Joshua Abrams formed Natural Information Society (NIS) in 2010. Performing Abrams’ compositions, NIS creates long-form psychedelic environments through processes of repetition, duration & learning. Lisa Alvarado’s free hanging paintings act as mobile settings in performance & visual metaphors on the album covers. The group has released 7 records for eremite records & has collaborated on recodings with Bitchin Bajas & Steve Gunn. Their latest, Since Time Is Gravity was released 4.14.23 and features a ten piece community ensemble with the legendary Ari Brown.
