Biography

Harm & Ease is a Juno-nominated rock band from Toronto, Canada. Their viral single “Cut Me Loose” earned them a nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year, and their newest single, “Thinkin’ Bout Love,” has been heavily featured on Spotify playlists. Founded by guitarist Danny Lopez and vocalist Rylan Whalen in high school, the band’s journey took a turn when Lopez moved to South America at 16. They relocated to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where they built a fanbase and met blues rock musician John Goodblood, who later moved with them to Canada. Upon returning, they recruited high school friend Alex Hamnett on drums. During the pandemic, their TikTok video of “Cut Me Loose” went viral, reaching over 2 million streams. By the end of 2022, the song peaked at #10 on the Billboard rock charts and was among the top 30 most-played songs of the year, making Harm & Ease the only new rock band to chart. Their music blends classic and modern rock, appealing to a wide audience. They’ve collaborated with Walk Off The Earth, Fefe Dobson, Siames, Dominic John Davis, and John-Angus MacDonald of The Trews. Harm & Ease is now releasing material for a new album, exploring their distinct sound, catchy hooks, and powerful riffs.
