James Benjamin (aka Boogieman) is one of the owners of Breakglass Studios, where he works as a music producer, Grammy winning mixer and composer and serves as the host of Live Analog Dance Rhythms. In 2020 he co-wrote the soundtrack for AAA video game Ancestors the Human Kind Odyssey, and in 2021 wrote original soundtracks for the Canadian Centre for Architecture and the Salon du Livre de Montreal. His spatial audio exhibition; Ecological Ambisonic Recording 001 also premiered at the Never Apart Gallery with it’s second iteration EAR 002 exhibiting outdoors in Downtown Montreal in August 2021 as part of MUTEK MONTREAL and third iteration EAR 003 exhibiting outdoors on St Laurent Boulevard in June 2022 in the Mercedes Benz Innovation Zone as part of MURAL festival 2022. With his analog dance duo Boogieman and Samito he played Mutek Montreal edition 21, Picnic Electronik 2021 and the MURAL 2022 closing party and with 4 piece experimental electronic ensemble Porto Porto! he played Mutek Montreal edition 22 and Mutek Japan x Mexico’s virtual edition.
