Biography
So-called Punk Rocker of ambient. NAAL is the postmodernist, minimal composition/drone project of Chicago-native-turned-Nashville-transplant, and award winning film composer Dave Mantel. A now mature and established voice that combines elements of ambient and drone music, field recordings, and a multi-sensory live performance, NAAL explores the depths of simple, mostly a-melodic compositions, made up of thick layers of gently modulating tones and textures.
