J.a.y. Young is an American rapper,best known for his hit classics Don't Shoot (Current Affairs), to On Sight (Radio Edit) to Friend$ Hailing from the Alief neighborhood where he grew up in Houston. J.a.y. Young has become one Houston’s most admired rappers. No one could question his presence throughout the South as he’s collaborated from everyone from Scarface to Z-Ro to K-Rino to Boosie Badazz, Big K.R.I.T. to name a few. He essentially defines what it means to be a lyrical Southern rapper. This became glaringly evident on his opus album @4 A.M. which features a massive wave of classic tracks and guest appearances. Because J.a.y. Young never crossed over and remained aligned to the streets, his influence never waned, making him one of the few veterans able to sustain in the here-today, gone-tomorrow rap game.
