Making music is easy, but having that music resonate with listeners and drive them to the point of inspiration is another thing entirely. Maven Gray is someone who can humbly say he has done that at least once in his life. The self-proclaimed “Wavy Trap God” was born in Louisiana but raised in Houston during the ‘90s golden age of hip-hop. There he was able to garner an array of influences with an emphasis on lyricism and creativity. Being disabled, Maven knew music was something that could free him from the stigma while giving people in the same scenarios as him the hope to push through adversity. After feeling trapped within a group for almost a decade, he would take matters into his own hands by quitting his job and pursuing a solo career. He learned the ins and outs of music and dropped his debut project, “Gray Skiez,” in late 2018, asserting his ambient trap sound with unique and catchy flows. His latest project, “Atmospherik Chillaxin,” is an inspiring compilation of songs that not only elevate the mood of the listener, but give hope that just like Maven Gray, you can do anything you set your mind to!
