Biography

Maxime is a French-American artist born in Los Angeles. When only 19, his electro/trip hop band Red Room gets signed by Sony / Trema (France). He sets up a production studio in Paris which helps him strengthen his producer skills while meeting with well-known artists such as Amont Tobin from Ninja Tunes label. While Red Room splits up, him and Adam Turner meets in 2002 & they start composing what will soon after become their first album under Beat Assailant, Hard Twelve - The success allows Maxime to start assembling 14 musicians for the scene, blending hip hop, jazz, rock & that he will lead while working as a producer/musician and as a guitarist on the collective shows. Two more album will follow Imperial Pressure & Rhyme Space Continuum - They will perform 1000 gigs worldwide during these 10 years that accounted this project. In 2009, Fréderic Berthe, French director and filmmaker, trusts him on his first soundtrack for the movie RTT. It helps him building his career as a motion composer, and then redirects his music when he splits up from Beat Assailant in 2011. He composed for more than 15 movies, TV shows. He worked on more than 40 albums including collaborations with artists such as Ben l’oncle soul, Danger Mouse (Gnarls-Barkley/Gorillaz), Petula Clark and Nina Attal. In 2020, Maxime feels the need to come back to where he belongs, to his roots, to his origins. With the help of french musicians David Boutherre & Frédéric Scamps they start a new band : Le Douze
