After producing Tamahuma X's "fakehuman" and "Purgatory" projects, DJ Afrika With a K took his first step into the spotlight with the 2020 release, "MIXTAPE." Featuring a variety of styles, a mesh of instrumentation, and guest appearances from Tamahuma X, "MIXTAPE" proved to be quite a departure from his prior production work. In 2021, DJAK hopes to continue this trend with "MIXTAPE 2," a direct follow-up written soon after the first mixtape, featuring electronica, house, funk, and even jazz influence, not to mention guest appearances by fellow X Collective members Tamahuma X and Urban Horizons.
