Biography

Embracing the core essence of hip-hop, VA-based rapper, songwriter, and record producer Heroux is spearheading a revolutionary wave in conscious hip-hop. With roots in Houston, TX, and now thriving in Roanoke, VA, Heroux’s artistry is a captivating blend of traditional rap, contemporary R&B, Lo-Fi, and dark ambience. His music, influenced by legends like Travis Scott, Jodeci, Drake, Bryson Tiller, Tame Impala, and Kanye West, serves as a vessel for spreading profound wisdom. Heroux’s mission is to lead and illuminate the “children of the sun,” guiding them towards life’s divine truths and the power of manifestation. He poses a thought-provoking question: “Music is the language of God. If God speaks, what would she say?” Inspired by the Egyptian God Horus, also known as Heru, whose name signifies "he who is above" and "he who is distant," Heroux’s spiritual journey fuels his music, focusing on the divine lights: the sun and the soul. In June 2021, Heroux, also known as Brian P Waites, launched Cult 9 Records, a label dedicated to nurturing a community of artists committed to fostering positive global change. This initiative marks a significant milestone in his quest to use music as a force for enlightenment and transformation.
