At the tender age of 14, she started uploading covers from her favourite artists on Soundcloud under the name ‘Zalelo’. Amassing over 50,000 listens later, Zalelo gained confidence to reveal herself and eventually write her own songs. After producers discovered her, she began to release her own songs professionally and is now actively representing Singapore as a singer-songwriter and budding rapper. With versatility under her belt, Zalelo lives and breathes R&B but decided to step out of the box and experiment with rap. Winning the #ZamaeraRapChallenge has opened many doors for her, including performing at Riuhinthecity and various collaborations with Malaysian/Brunei artists. Catching the attention of Def Jam SEA, Zalelo hopes to inspire more women to chase their dreams, especially in the same industry and be the first signed female singer-rapper in Singapore. Keeping her late veteran father (Aman Shah)’s legacy alive, Zalelo does music in multiple languages; English, Malay and Arabic.
