Johnathon Cannon, known as Johnney C, is a rapper and fashion enthusiast emerging from the Eastside of Atlanta, the new music capital for aspiring artists. The Northside hospital bred, MC conjured up his first rhyme at just 8 years old in the cafeteria with his friends. This spur of the moment freestyle spawned a keen interest in Johnney C to make his first song. Using a Windows 98 Computer, a beat, and a microphone, Johnny made his first record and from then on music has been very near and dear to his heart. Johnney’s mother singing to him as a child is a moment from his childhood that he notes as inspiring him to be an artist and though not coming from a musical family, Johnny relied on the ears of his friends and close ones to encourage him to make music. Johnney’s sound has a multitude of influences seeing that it ranges from old school to new school. His seasoned family gave him the love for artist’s like Luther Vandross and his Atlanta culture brought him to the likes of Outkast and later on Bankroll Fresh. Growing up in a Church had planted a seed in Johnney’s artistry.
