Time Away is really Chris Held from the Netherlands. Saying that music has always been his passion would be a lie as it was likely just a hidden talent until the end of the 1980’s when humanity decided to bring standard sound cards for consumer audio to the personal computer market. As the world of 8-bit music rapidly became way too small he expanded to create a small bedroom studio with a close friend and worked his way to a few actual releases in 1995 under the names of Fantasphere, Crystal Sphere and Dreamfields. The main genres were trance, techno and a little bit of ambient. After 1995 there were no more releases and what followed were many years of hobby music behind closed curtains just for the sake of art.That all changed in 2011 after meeting another music producer from the Netherlands going by the name of Myth and with the discovery of Soundcloud and sharing music with the world. Time Away saw first light and some serious music making was back on the menu. Nowadays the musical genres entail chillout, ambient, soundtracks and a little bit of trance. Even though Time Away is still one person, he’s often collaborating with greatly talented artists within his favorite genres.
