Biography

Thomas Agergaard is a Danish saxophone player, flute Player and composer. He plays with a nordic sound, but in an American tradition, influences from Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Jan Garbarek, Stan Getz, Ben Webster and others. The Danish saxophonist and composer is in a constant state of creative transformation. Awards and nominations: Danish Arts Foundation prize for Ok Nok Kongo Plays Thomas 4 Agergaard and John Tchicai. 1995 DJBFA Award of Honor. 2001 Danish Art Foundation Composer Grant for 3 years. 2002 Conductor at the Jazzpar 2002 / 2003. Leopold Prize, for the album Die Schneekönigin. 2003. Kolding Sound Sculpture Contest for the album Growth. 2009.
