Biography

ÉxQuartet is a string ensemble consisting of brilliant musical personalities from Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra: violinists Monika Sawczuk and Łukasz Górewicz, violist Grzegorz Sadowski and cellist Tomasz Szczęsny. The artists, who originate from different musical environments of Warsaw, Szczecin and Wrocław, maintain an active concert and recording schedule. Owing to the fact that they do not only play chamber music, but also perform as solists and concertmasters, they have gained insight into multiple aspects of music performance. This allows them to come up with unique interpretations of works for string quartet and create new forms of expression. Through their emotionally charged performances, they strive to create unforgettable experiences for the audience during every concert. In 2020, ÉxQuartet recorded its three debut albums, titled New Music for String Quartet. The albums, which feature contemporary music, won a medal at the 2021 Global Music Awards. The ensemble has participated in a numer of festivals, including Kwidzyn International Music Festival and the International Organ Music Festival in Szczecin, and events such as the opening of the sixth True Musicans Tournament in Szczecin or the inauguration of the Pilecki Institute in Berlin. Apart from it, the quartet has been carrying out projects with the support of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Since 2020, the musicans have been acting as brand ambassadors of innovative ConCarbo tailpieces.
