Design The Void was founded by Joshua Johnson in early 2016, teaming up with prior bandmate Koden Thompson later in the year to start something new and exciting. Through a vigorous search of musicians to help complete Design The Void, Richie Bernhard, Jake Halleck, and Josh Messier were later added to the band. Design The Void recorded their first EP with guitarist Joshua Johnson early 2017, named "Visionary EP", which set in motion the band's first step in establishing themselves in the metal community. The band worked with Alex Koehler of Chelsea Grin in late 2017 to have him feature in their song, “Counter Image” as a remastered single. As a preview to their upcoming LP, DTV released their song “Weightless”, along with two others “In Motion” (2019) and “Cyclic” (2019). Along with their premiere music video for “Cyclic”, the band recently released their full-length album "EBON SOUL” on 7.26.2019.
