Hip-hop Emcee, Jay "Quokane" Cruz born Jarred W. Cruz Silva, is a Sony Orchard recording artist under the label Freedom Corner Brand. Cruz, a humble visionary, veteran MC and recording artist who does it all, from engineering to back office work with the label. Born and bred in Massachusetts into his teens he bounced around the northern east coast as well as down south. Cruz wrote his first rhyme at 7 recorded his first record at 11. At that point he started working wav files, producing beats and making records. Over the past several years he has bent all of his focus on versatility. This boy can spit on damn near anything you give him, and his cadence, flow and smokey vocals capture you instantly. His latest project The Masterpiece Side A released 01/01/2024 is a prime example of versatility. Side B of the project will be out on 03/05 and will show even more of his flex. Back track a few years to 2019 Cruz began pooling his resources while building new relationships. He formed a group with Professor Lyrical creating the duo ProQuo shortly after the pandemic. They created an album "Instant Brotherhood" with in-house production from all around the world. Cruz also joined forces with the label Freedom Corner Brand based out of Mississippi as well as Family & Friends ENT and released the project via Sony Orchard. The album #iBHOOD had charted on National College Radio charts and the entire album charted 18/30 nationally before the end of 2022.
