Biography

The City Needs A Popstar. One who fights for the working-class immigrant and minority communities that make New York the city of dreams. One whose versatile artistry and skillset reflect the diversity of the streets they grew up on. Queens native singer/songwriter/instrumentalist/producer Naveed Ahmed expertly combines storytelling, introspection, and philanthropy in his unique brand of Urban-Pop music. From satirizing western beauty standards on acoustic guitar-driven “Tatted White Boy” to lamenting the pressures of lifting one’s family out of poverty on R&B ballad “Enough”, Naveed’s catalog chronicles a city kid’s coming of age story while unearthing the layers of the modern human condition. His latest release "Gentrifiers" aims to spread awareness of the mass displacement of lower income minority/immigrant New Yorkers.
