Biography

Hailing from Chicago, GAWNE is a rapper and a songwriter known for his emotional, cinematic storytelling and rapid fire delivery. Since starting his career in 2010, GAWNE has accumulated over 150 million streams on his music and has collaborated with artists like Tech N9ne, Slaughterhouse, and Lil Xan. In 2020, GAWNE co-wrote for Grammy nominated rapper D. Smoke’s “I’m Alive,” the lead single off of Paramount’s film “Infinite,” starring Mark Wahlberg. Additionally, GAWNE has appeared on NPR, NBC, and ABC, among other major media platforms.
Born Luke Gawne, GAWNE began rapping after a debilitating brain injury forced him to withdraw from school and study at home. Due to his inability to read or watch TV from visual issues as a result of the injury, GAWNE poured his energy into music as a therapeutic outlet. He channeled his pain and frustrations into his songs and has since committed to making raw, unapologetic music that remains authentic to his personal journey.
In 2022, GAWNE began his roll out for SEVEN, his upcoming album that explores his origin story through his manifestations of the seven deadly sins. The album consists of seven songs outlining the new direction of GAWNE and a preview of what’s to come.
