Biography

"K-H-I-double D"
The Khidd, is an icon...for one. More importantly, The Khidd, born Jaidenn Butler, is an artist hailing from Columbia, South Carolina. Khidd's love from music came from growing up with his grandparents who are avid churchgoers. He grew up trying many instruments. Piano, guitar, trombone, drums (which he played for 12+ years); He even was on chorus and band in fifth and sixth grade. In middle school, Khidd would rap Childish Gambino lyrics during lunch freestyles. Former students said he should take it seriously, so you'd think he would. Actually, he didn't. He wanted to work with cameras so bad. He wanted to do some film work. Around 2018, Khidd picked up a camera and began making YouTube videos. Vlogs, skits, challenges ... whatever he could record. They were mainly in school videos so, in March 2020 when the pandemic started, he grew bored because he couldn't go to school to record. He picked up an old new hobby-turned-career, music. On June 27th, 2020, his first single "Young Melanin Kings"--written about the Black Lives Matter movement--did numbers. He kept working from there. Single after single came about. His EP, named accordingly, "SweaterWeather" (October 30th, 2020) came out took people by surprise. In late November, he announced an album would happen in 2021. Sure enough, on September 3rd, 2021, as a college freshman, Khidd dropped "Bummed Out". An album with an interesting meaning and odd perspective behind the word "bum". Check out The Khidd.
