Rumor Has It; The alias of Geraldo Escatel, a music producer from Mendota, Il. His influences range from 80s pop music and punk rock, to 90s alt rock and 00’s rap, with reggae being his biggest inspiration. From the northwest suburbs of Chicago Rumor Has It has crafted a style that he can call his own. Formed in 2019, rumorhasIT was once a music duo, but in late 2021 tragedy struck shortly after they decided to begin the debut album. Matt Waido, the band’s drummer passed away unexpectedly and this led to years of recovery for rumorhasIT before spending almost another year writing and recording an album in secret. The album serves as a tribute to Matt Waido and rumorhasIT's other best friend, Pete, who also passed away during production. In the wake of the past, Rumor Has It has started Midwest Waves, a music studio and production company for him to record, mix, and master all of his music himself from here on out. The debut album "Amigos", which is Spanish for "Friends", was recorded and edited at this location in central Illinois. Now, set to return with a fully written and recorded debut album that tells so many stories, Rumor Has It is asking you to join him on the musical journey he has embarked on.
