CHROMA is a Chicano hip-hop collective composed of graphic artist FITO and musicians polito, Kalid Abdul, & Bleu Santana. We exist to inspire, empower, and innovate the variety and depth of color within the Human experience, particularly as expressed through the Chicano identity. CHROMA’s sound is the culmination of various genres including Hip-Hop, Alt-Rap, House, & Indie Pop, fusing its Chicano roots by putting Mexican culture at the forefront of the art. Although CHROMA's founding members first met on the same street during their childhoods in their home city of Dallas, TX, the journey started in 2019 with the release of the debut mixtape, The Year of the Puma. The project follows the group's learning how to function as a unit and is full of sparking youth. The project captures the innocence and creativity of the group's beginnings. A year later they brought that experience to their 2nd project, Primavera, which is a collaboration with their great friend A-Wall with the aim at making pop/summer “hits” to try to bring glimmers of hope & rebirth to a hard year on humanity (2020). CHROMA & A-Wall were recognized as the “Best Musical Collaboration” by D Magazine in 2023 for their work on Primavera and on the record Floating (feat. CHROMA) on A-Wall’s latest LP Autopilot. CHROMA released its much anticipated 3rd project and second mixtape, The Age of Starlight, in 2023. They are currently working on new music along with a new project with A-Wall. - with love, CHROMA
