A wise man once mused, “Defining Balearic is very much akin to nailing lemon jelly to a Las Salinas beach hut; messy, sure, but ultimately a lot of fun”. Andres y Xavi's music is heavily influenced by a lifelong love affair with the Balearics and the sound of the Balearic Beat. Inspired by the remote side of the white isle: it’s dusty trails, remote rocky outcrops and deserted beaches; it’s chance encounters with random strangers who become lifelong friends; it’s sunsets and sunrises and a far cry from the big names and high prices. Each track is a love letter to the spirit of the island that enticed open-minded souls there generations (of love) ago. Debut album ‘Vibraciones y sentimientos’ has been supported by Leo Mas, Chris Coco, Phil Cooper, BAOL, Balearic Ultras, Music for Dreams, Ibiza Sonica, Soft Rocks and many more. Dr Rob, in his Ban Ban Ton Ton blog (https://banbantonton.com/2019/07/02/andres-y-xavi-vibraciones-y-sentimientos/) was moved to describe the album as: “smokey Muscle Shoals organ plays, strings swoon, and Kosmische synths blink like distant stars … Shadow-esque breaks … like The Stone Roses by way of Horsebeach” Lead track ‘My Alibi’ was included on the critically acclaimed Eclectics compilation ‘Love, Love, Love volume one’ and has garnered further praise: Danny Psychemagik said: “My Alibi is the jam for me, sunset vibes” Sunset vibes indeed, or, as we say ,‘vibraciones’. The second AyX lp will be released in spring 2021.
