Sway Dasafo was born in North London to Ghanaian parents in 1982. He spent time in Ghana during childhood before returning to London. Sway’s love of music transformed him to a budding producer. Sway went onto have his first solo record land on the first ever BBC R1Xtra playlist. He became the face of UK urban music & started his own record label; Dchypa. Sway was the first unsigned rapper to win a MOBO Award. ‘Little Derek’ became a top 40 smash and genre defining moment. ‘This Is My Demo’ became one of the most critically acclaimed UK rap albums of all time.
