Carmen Monarcha is an internationally renowned soprano from Pará, Brazil, with a degree in Solo Singing Performance from the Conservatorium Maastricht and further training in Austria and Germany. For 18 years, she represented Brazil alongside maestro André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra, touring over 70 countries and performing on prestigious stages such as the Waldbühne in Berlin and the O2 Arena in London, captivating audiences of up to 40,000 people. In Brazil, she won notable competitions, including the International Bidu Sayão Competition and the Petrobras Young Soloists. She performs at festivals such as the Amazonas Opera Festival and the Campos do Jordão Festival and collaborates with leading national orchestras and theaters. Her repertoire highlights include operas by Debussy, Gounod, and Verdi, as well as premieres like Cinco Poemas de Vinicius de Moraes by João Guilherme Ripper. During the pandemic, she closed the 2020 season of the Bachiana Philharmonic Orchestra SESI/SP alongside maestro João Carlos Martins. Carmen is also a crossover artist, blending opera, Brazilian popular music (MPB), jazz, and pop in unique performances, including concerts for the Neymar Junior Institute and international events for the Pelé Goals for Life Institute.
