Starting to play the bass guitar at the age of thirteen, Halil Çağlar Serin graduated from Dokuz Eylül University's Musicology Department in 2015 and was was invited to the Berklee College of Music with scholarship. He attended Siena Jazz Workshop, California Lafayette Summer Jazz Workshop, Kentucky Louisville Jamey Aebersold Jazz Music Workshop, Texas Southern University Summer Jazz Camp and New Hampshire Bass Festival with scholarship and got awards in Lafayette Summer Jazz Workshop and Akbank Young Jazz Musicians. 3 Generations a trio album released in 2018, and Aperlai in 2021 right before he released his first single A Lament for Lost Ones. His debut solo album Hypnopedia was released in 2021. The album is inspired by the music Halil listens to whilst sleeping, processing the techniques of composing during the night. Submissive from that album was recently released I'm the Sky, I'm the Earth with lyrics by Deniz Taşar and a new approach. He had chance to play with Ferenc Nemeth, Eddie Henderson, Bob Lanzetti, Miguel Zenon, Jim Snidero, Sarp Maden, Thomas Borchert, Dena DeRose, Ricky Ford, Gilad Atzmon. He also plays and does studio recordings for various artists in the jazz, pop and hip hop scene.
