TRAEDONYA! has been hailed ''THE BRIDE OF NEW FUNK HIPOPERA'' by the UK press due to her single Beloved when she recorded and lived in London. She is essentially a jazz school drop out from the New School Of Social Research Jazz Conservatory where she trained with Jazz greats Chico Hamilton and Bernard Purdie. She derives her edginess from growing up in the Bronx, Ny when Hip hop was coming of age. Her first professional recording was with the Tuff City Imprint which birthed ''Do The Boogaloo'' as a teenager. Due to this background you have an artist who utilizes her voice as an instrument yet can bring a soulful playful grittiness. This artistic style allowed her to be signed to Elektra Records which led to her debut album Sample This with her Ensemble ''Sample This''. In the present TRAEDONYA! collaborates with the independent imprint Prohibition Entertainment out of New York City and has released several projects including the 4 Portraits EP.
