Instagram: @theguycoughman Coughman was born Samuel Coffman on December 30, 1998 in Acworth, Georgia. During his early high school years, Coughman starts studying lyrics and patterns as a hobby, and decide to focus more on it near the end of 2018 when he released his first mixtape, “A Blunt Introduction.” Coughman’s work mainly consists of the reflection of his own environment, but he doesn’t want to limit himself to just that. Coughman has been heavily inspired by many artists and albums, including the likes of Chance the Rapper ‘s “Acidrap,” Earl Sweatshirt ‘s “I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside,” Mac Miller , Smino, etc. When asked the question of why he makes music, Coughman responded, “I write because I find comfortability in [the] self-expression of this art form.” After repeated collaborations with 1122 Records, Kyle Isdead, LevelUp Productions, and X%, Coughman has landed as an independent artist.
