Mocca is an Indonesian four-member band formed in 1999 in Bandung, capital city of West Java, Indonesia. The band’s musical style is inspired by retro sounds from the ‘50s – ‘70s, influenced by Swedish pop, with touches of swing, bossanova and jazz. Core of the band are Arina Ephipania (vocals, flute), Riko Prayitno (guitar), Toma Pratama (bass), and Indra Massad (drums). Mocca’s debut album called My Diary was release on 2002. In 2004 they were nominated by MTV Asia as one of the best new comer, and released their albums in Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia, three years later also in Japan. In 2008 Mocca start gained popularity in South Korea because few of their songs were featured in commercials, variety shows, K-Drama, and movies. During the journey, Mocca made 8 albums, 2 mini album, and 1 EP. The band went on hiatus in 2011, then they returned in early 2015 with their 4th album called ‘Home’, about their journey and longing for home after the long hiatus. Since then Mocca productively making pieces for their lovely Mocca Friends all around the globe. Mocca also known as a story-telling-band, thus songs their produce always carry stories closed to everybody. 2025 is going to be Mocca 25th anniversary, so many stories throughout the journey. It will not ended here, Mocca will always make good music and take you by their side to sing together along the upcoming journey.
