Biography

Robyn Black is one of Canada's extraordinary powerhouse vocal talents. With a career as a singer, songwriter and studio vocalist for over two decades, Robyn is now stepping into the spotlight as a solo recording artist. Robyn is a regularly featured vocalist for Toronto's George St. Kitts' band and Lou Pomanti's horn band "Oakland Stroke." Now Pomanti is set to release a series of singles leading up to an LP by the end of 2022. Robyn's first single, Bruno Mars' "Locked Out Of Heaven", is a slowed and sultry, nu-soul drenched ballad dripping with Robyn's smooth vocals, lush background harmonies and features William Sperandi on trumpet. Robyn's parents were active musicians, and music is in her blood. As a youth, she enjoyed success in musical theatre; she sang the national anthem at major sporting events, shared the stage with the Backstreet Boys and charted as a teen with a pop hit. In Toronto, Robyn is a top session singer on countless recordings for producers and projects worldwide and holds song credits with Japanese, Korean and American recording artists. She has songwriting placements on Disney, and Nickelodeon shows, and her voice has been used in television commercials for Folgers, Bell, Greyhound and Staples. Robyn is a very versatile singer, and her ability to take direction, make songs her own, and capture an audience makes her unique. She will be an unstoppable force as she embarks on this new journey as a solo artist.
