He played an instrumental role in popularizing the Amapiano genre as a whole, with his breakthrough in the late 2019. Dj Mjakes began his career as a DJ in 2019, venturing in the genres: Afro-fused house and EDM. He gained his production credits by releasing his first EP Burst With Palm Springs under the label Blue Hub Records.
