Josiah Soren is a Bass player, Beat maker, Author and Educator living in Atlanta, GA. He has performed with bands around the SouthEastern United States, such as Funk You , The Orange Constant, Opposite Box and Universal Sigh. and has composed basslines and recorded collaboratively with producers Pure Colors and Konteks. Josiah has won grants for his writing and is a published author with Mel Bay Publications for his book "Slap Bass Encyclopedia". In April of 2021, Josiah released his debut Beat Tape Album on Etymology Records under the mentorship of Jazzinuf. This 13-track lofi jazz hip hop record features the peaceful sounds of piano, calming lofi jazz drums, and live bass. The album, called Mind. Body. Soul. is a reflection of Josiah's own musical journey after the pandemic hit and deprived him of his profession. In April of 2023, Josiah released a Vinyl record with his band "The Colorblind Pilots" through the label Color Red, as well a 2nd full-length instrumental hip hop beat tape under his own name. In late 2023 and early 2024, Josiah will be releasing two additional albums - an 18-track instrumental hip hop beat tape called "Night Tapestry" and a 10-track Jazz/Hip Hop album called "SAMURAI".
