baye is Michael Venezia, a multi-instrumentalist, DJ and producer who creates electrorganic music. A product of the rave and industrial scenes of 90’s NYC, Michael cut his teeth with programming and synthesis work in cult industrial rock band The Aggression. As 4th level he released blistering techno 12”’s on respected UK imprint Auk Recordings, started post-rock instrumental band In Loving Memory as an outlet for moody, guitar-focused music, and added electronic sizzle to bohemian freak out unit The=Equation. In the last decade, Michael released techno and bass tracks and remixes under the baye moniker on German labels Klangpunkt and Unexpected Audio Productions. He has also been a key member of the synth pop collective Trade Secrets and is the bassist and producer in indie band I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying. baye is currently working to further develop ideas for compositions and mixes exploring the integration of analog hardware and DSP, of traditional instrumentation into electronic music, and to better understand the dialectical experiences of the archaic and the futuristic, and of the light and darkness, that mark the human condition.
