Born in Singapore then raised in Belgium to a Chinese-Malay mother and British father, MEIYI never fit a singular box. Her musical education was much the same. Raised on the likes of Bob-Dylan and Fleetwood Mac but captivated by neo-soul artists in her teens. MEIYI draws from both worlds,inspired by the likes of Erykah Badu and Leif Vollebekk. MEIYI fuses folk and soul with a unique voice and beautiful lyricism. The London-based singer songwriter entwines bluesy chords and R&B beats with breezy, intricate vocals Meiyi is currently working on new material, both solo and collaborations.
