Jimmy Brixton is a music artist of Italian descent. He moved to London, UK at the age of 18 to pursue his creative journey. His childhood in a small town in Abruzzo, southern Italy was challenging due to bullying, a strained relationship with his father, and the inability to pursue his passion for music, art, and dance. Despite little formal musical training, Jimmy was surrounded by music from the 70s and 80s and classic movies, which inspired him. He studied music performance at BIMM in 2010 and started playing live gigs and recording original music with an indie rock band. He then began writing his songs on guitar and played small gigs. In 2012, he pursued a second academic course at BANM and released his first EP at the end of the year. From September 2013, Jimmy started releasing music as a solo artist and performing regularly in London, initially using the name 'Marco'. In 2020, he changed his stage name to 'Jimmy Brixton' after working closely with artist coach Camille Barbone. 'Jimmy' was a childhood nickname that he chose to reconnect with his inner child, and 'Brixton' represented the city that kickstarted his artistic journey. Evolving from indie pop rock/electronica to retro pop/synth pop electropop sound with influences from 70s and 80s dance music, he relocated to NYC, performing regularly and collaborating with other music artists. He now resides in Barcelona, and is working on a full-length album comprising music from 2013 onwards, set for release in 2025.
