Antonis Repanis played the guitar and sang in front of an audience for the first time at the age of 17. Two years later, he appeared next to Stavros Tzouanakos, and the great bouzouki master, George Tsimpidis. The first song that Antonis Repanis recorded was the composition of Babis Bakalis “ta matia mou tha paro”. His first success was a song by the same composer: “olos o kosmos me misei”, in 1961. On stage, he collaborated with Kazantzidis, Marinella, Gavalas, Poly Panou, Bithikotsis, Dionysiou, Tsitsanis, Kaldaras, Mitsakis, Papaioannou, Hiotis. As a composer, he wrote great hits that he sang himself and also: Dionysiou, Gavalas, Christakis, Sakelariou, Bithikotsis, Margaritis, Mytilineos, Papadopoulou. Some of his famous songs are: “Paliatzis”, “Agapi mou epikindini”, “xthes to vradi stin taverna”, “ I diprosopi” , “pou na girnas”, “aitos aito megalone”, “poia eisai esy”, “ta agathia tis kardias sou”, “ma ti leo”, “thisiastika” etc. Antonis Repanis was not only a great singer and composer , but also a great guitarist. He served Greek folk music for more than 60 years.
