Biography

Paul van Nimwegen AKA "Poseidon” is a Melbourne based producer & composer dedicated to bringing you powerful and cinematic bass music. "Poseidon" is a unique musical project that draws inspiration from ancient Greek myths, seamlessly blending modern electronic elements with captivating cinematic orchestral arrangements. In recognition of Poseidon's exceptional talent, the project received the "Best New Talent" award at the Australian EDM Awards within its first two years of inception. Poseidon's musical journey has been characterized by constant experimentation and a desire to challenge conventions. From two powerful and intense EPs on Crowsnest Audio to an ambient, orchestral, and melodic LP on Open Outlets, Poseidon has defied genre boundaries. A notable collaboration titled "Eidolon" with artists ÆTERNA and Leon Ross was released on VALE, featuring the track "Zen Mirage," which garnered attention as it was played live by Noisia and premiered on Noisia Radio. While initially focused on creating dubstep, Poseidon has ventured into other genres such as half-time and experimental music, showcasing a refusal to be confined to any specific category. Above all, Poseidon's aim is to create impactful music that evokes emotions, challenges expectations, and immerses audiences in abstract sonic worlds. Through this journey, stories are woven, inviting listeners to embark on a modern and transformative musical experience.
