Biography

BlackNeeyz has always had his fingers in multiple artistic economies. The artist has a chameleon-like skillset which has extended not only to being a musician and lyricist, but a producer – and even a horn player. Hailing from in the West Midlands, BlackNeeyz had a greater appetite for his future than its city limits would allow. From birth to 8-years-old, he was partially deaf, 18 months behind in his education, and painfully introverted, which that meant his formative years were dogged by a lack of confidence in himself and his abilities. After an operation which restored his ability to hear, his love affair with music began – and he’s never looked back since. Moving to London to enroll at the Royal Academy of Music, he had laid the foundations of his reputation as a multi-hyphenate, which, over the course of his ten years there, had the chance to grow to full fruition. London was a place of reinvention. Cutting his teeth playing the trombone as a session musician, working behind the scenes allowed BlackNeeyz to embed himself in the music industry and forge invaluable alliances with the key players around him.
