Biography

Dominé Brishawn is a GRAMMY accredited artist & vocalist based out of the Bay Area. She is a first-generation Nigerian-American, who was born and raised in Oakland, CA, where she first fell in love with music and true artistry. She began her singing career at church as a youth member, then she went on to study Vocal Music at Oakland School for the Arts (OSA). During her time at OSA, she was a part of several choirs and ensembles and became a Founding member of the Award-winning A cappella group, Vocal Rush. After graduating from OSA in 2012, Dominé attended Fisk University, where she studied Psychology, Music, and Vocal Performance. Within a year of being at Fisk, she became Director of the Fisk University's Women's Ensemble and Section Leader of the Alto section in the University Choir. She went on several choir tours with both groups, and later in her college career, she became a member of the world-renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers. It is with the Fisk Jubilee Singers that Dominé won her first Grammy as a credited ensemble Vocalist on the album "Celebrating Fisk" for the 63rd Annual Grammy Celebration. Dominé has recently reemerged to pursue her independent career as an RnB/Soul Artist. She has a sound that is unlike no other; her artistic vision is to be known for her intricate harmonies, vocal production, vivid storytelling, and lyricism. She wants her listeners to feel and heal from the words she writes, and her vocal melodies.
