AB Central is a multi-award-winning South African music production duo made up of Andile “Uncle Andy” Nkosi and Bassanio Ocean Bassanio January. Fast becoming a household name in the “Gospel AmaPiano” sub-genre, this tag team of composers, beat-makers and collaborators records Christian music across genres including Gospel, AmaPiano, House, R&B and Hip-Hop. As a collaboration hub, AB Central has worked with various artists including Dr Dope, Gospel Silinda, Takie Ndou and Dj Penny 🇳🇬 to mention a few. In 2022, the band was nominated for the Best Rap Gospel at the highly coveted Crown Gospel Awards for their single ‘Overflow’ which featured an all ladies rap ensemble including MelisaGotGrace, Lilly Maya, Benev and Koketso Shange. The duo would later win the Best Gospel House Award the and Best Gospel Rap Award at the 2023 INGOMA Awards. In 2023, the duo produced a groundbreaking Christian Rap record featuring 14 rappers titled, ‘Indoda Must Pray’. The single would later earn them another Crown Gospel Award nomination for Best Gospel Rap. With their single ‘Jesus (AmaPiano)’ achieving gold 📀 status and a Best Gospel Collaboration Award win in 2024, AB Central is now positioning itself as a global band, collaborating with artists from Kenya, Nigeria and the USA.
