Dariush Azar was born in 1983 in Tehran, Iran. He began his interest in music at a young age by learning orphanage, tombak, piano, clarinet, and classical singing, respectively. He started his professional music career by entering Tehran University of Arts and specializing in double bass in 2002. After his graduation, he joined the group of master Mohammad Reza Shajarian and Homayoun Shajarian. In 2011 he became one of the pioneers of fusion musicians by working in jazz style and joining the Dang show, Pallett, and other fusion bands in Iran. Darius embarked on a solo career and released his debut album Blue-Gray In 2018.
