Pōneke based KITA have been described as a “must-see live band with a massive sound", despite just being a three-piece. Fronted by Taiwan-born wāhine Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant (The Dream-Maker in AOTEAROA's Spectacle WORLD OF WEARABLE ARTS 2024); she describes her main motivation as "finding common ground between differences" through her various forms of artistry. KITA meshes the folk-soul, bitey-guitar and lyrical storytelling of musician-actor Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant (AVATAR 2, FAR NORTH), with the thick lush sounds of Moog-synth and Rhodes from Ed Zuccollo (ZUKE) and the filthy drive and barking psychedelic drums of Rick Cranson (Little Bushman).
After releasing an EP as well as a debut album with Grammy-Award winning producer Tommaso Colliva (MUSE, RAZORLIGHT) during the world lockdowns, touring festivals and their releases domestically the last two years, KITA finished up in-studio between Aotearoa and Milan releasing their secondEP “LOVE LIVES HERE” with a tour late March 2023.
