Buenos Aires, Argentina based Koiwa aka Cristián García Laborde produces and DJ Lo-Fi House, Ambient, Drone, IDM and Techno. Inspired by traveling around the world, landscapes, flying, airports and airplanes. Co-founder, former drummer and synths of Lujo Asiático. He’s currently dedicated mainly to his solo project, which began in 2016 and that found its name during a trip to Koiwa, a neighbourhood in Tokyo. Expanding his prolific nature during 2023, he released several singles and albums, both alone and in collaboration with other artists (Nicolás Aimo, Disonar, Le Code). Latest albums released: Dikarya, Peña, Live at MACBA (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires) captured live during a 'sound activation' for the exhibition ''MONTES NO VISIBLES (Órganos Inespecíficos)''. Post Ambient released via Puddle Label run by Ariel Schlichter included five reworks of his track smrsms from other artists (Eric Olsen, Catu Hardoy, maeri, Pablo Reche and Matt Cianfo). Unexpected, a full collaborative album with SKSSS released via The Journey You Never Had run by Matt Cianfo. He’s currently also playing as a backing band for Haien, is part regularly of Sindicato Del Drone, and regularly documents gigs and events of the local scene in Buenos Aires through audiovisual means.
