ZZ Ward, known for her unique fusion of blues, hip-hop, pop, R&B, neo-soul, and rock, has announced 'Dirty Shine,' her debut album as an independent artist. In ZZ’s fan community, the term “dirty shine” symbolizes authenticity, including imperfections. It has evolved into a mission statement for ZZ, promoting self-embrace and resilience. ZZ started singing blues at age 8, driven by her father's record collection. By 16, she was a fixture in local Eugene clubs, merging blues and hip-hop. After hustling for gigs and selling demos, she got a record deal with a major label and rocketed to stardom, achieving a Top 40 Billboard hit with her debut. Now, ZZ is entering a significant new chapter with the release of ‘Dirty Shine,' drawing strength from motherhood and embodying the creative autonomy she now revels in. The album was produced by a powerhouse of award-winning producers, including Ludwig Goransson, Mike Elizondo, Jason Evigan, Dave Bassett, S1, and the duo Mark Jackson & Ian Scott. In addition to releasing this career-defining new album, ZZ is currently on tour, producing mini-movie music videos, designing her own millinery line, and engaging directly with her amazing fans through her discord and social communities. “This album gave me new life. It taught me to be a fighter, and allowed me to let my dirty shine,” ZZ concludes.
