Treman is piano music by composer Josh Jacobson. Growing up in a musical family in Ithaca NY, Josh was surrounded by classical music from a young age, internalizing Bach violin pieces and all of the early Suzuki repertoire before beginning piano lessons at age five, learning to read music and studying the great composers. Josh is now based in Los Angeles and has toured the world as a keyboard player and singer, performing at Coachella, Seoul Jazz Festival and major European festivals and appearing on TV shows ranging all the way from The Tonight Show and Jimmy Kimmel to Good Morning America and Ellen. Josh has produced and recorded for major artists like Lizzy McAlpine and Alec Benjamin, and composed original music for Mazda, Roland, and a documentary featured in the Manhattan Film Festival. Getting away from all of the commotion of the music business and just recording soulful piano music like this is a spiritual pursuit and a return to Josh's roots. So Treman is a project about musical origins, which is why it's named after the state park in Ithaca with a stunning gorge trail. Follow the beautiful piano music playlist for an independently curated collection of piano music, featuring new releases by up-and-coming composers as well as classics by current composers like Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, Jon Hopkins and more. The music here aims to capture the most direct expression of how magical it feels to sit down at the piano and just play. Listen, relax, and enjoy :)
