Biography

She specialises in research and performance on historical instruments of high lutherie. Her recordings, awarded by the international press, are the result of innovative artistic projects. Her debut solo album with music by 19th century composer Emilia Giuliani was enthusiastically received. Selected by The Times critics as one of the 100 best classical music albums, it was named: CD of the Week by Weta Classical-Washington and by Naxos Sweden; CD of the Month by Amadeus and DotGuitar; it was awarded 5 stars by the historic Italian magazine Musica, which published an interview with her. The Spanish magazine Ritmo included it among its reference recordings of 19th century guitar music. In Japan, it was named Editor's Choice by The Record Geijutsu, and Gendai Guitar published a special feature on the disc. As a chamber musician, Federica participated in the recording of a box set with several première from the Villa-Lobos repertoire made for Naxos. International critics have expressed enthusiastic feedback on these recordings, and awards include: CD Naxos of the month-Germany, CD of the week on Radio Cultura FM Brazil, CD of the month on Amadeus. Her recordings have been broadcast by ABCAustralia, WetaWashington, N.Y.Public Radio, Radio France, Radio Nacional de España, Radio Canada. She has received prizes in international competitions. Her research has led her towards historical lutherie by Lacote, Simplicio, Garcia. She teaches at the Sassari Conservatory (Sardinia)
