Norwegian electro-pop group Casiokids have churned out indie club bangers and eclectic alternative dance music for two decades now. Founded in Bergen in 2004, they became well known for their extravagant and energetic live shows which over the years has evolved into quite an audio-visual spectacle with enormous dancing DIY puppets. Their blend of euphoric synth hooks, ethereal vocals and melancholic undertones, has managed to gather them quite an international cult following. With singles like «Fot i hose» and «Finn bikkjen» getting considerable amounts of airtime in the UK, US and Norway, the band released their second album «Topp stemning på lokal bar» in 2010, having then signed with Moshi Moshi Records, Polyvinyl Records and Universal. Despite singing in their native tongue, Casiokids is one of few Norwegian language acts achieving international success, playing hundreds of club shows and festivals all over the world. «The best thing to come out of Norway since black metal!» as NME put it. Casiokids third album «Aabenbaringen over aaskammen» was released in 2011, receiving widespread critical acclaim and a Spellemann nomination (Norwegian Grammy) for best electronica album. Not long after, the band took a 10 year break. Since then, vocalist Fredrik Vogsborg has been the bandleader for AURORA and has won 3 Spellemann prizes (Norwegian Grammys) with The Megaphonic Thrift , Silja Sol and Young Dreams. In 2024 the band return with their 4th studio album Tid for hjem.
