It might seem that growing up and living in Utah, so far outside the electronic music scene (in more ways than one), would present hefty obstacles for producer M31 (Kyle Tippetts). But he’s been involved in the scene since 1997, back then as a listener, and now as a producer. “Music is and always has been an obsession for me, in a good way. I discovered early in my life that it has such power to influence and to change lives. And I’ve always felt like I really wanted to share with others what has affected me so deeply.” That’s true for his latest single Four Rows of Jacks (Winter Solstice Respray), a re-spray of Mannheim Steamroller’s Four Rows Of Jacks from their winter-themed Fresh Aire IV album. “2018 was the year of releasing these resprays on the first day of the seasons they went with, and Winter Solstice needed, I felt, an upbeat energetic track. I sometimes get that post-holiday and midwinter doldrums thing going, and I wanted something happy and peppy to counteract that.” “I pre-released this one on Winter Solstice, and now it’s generally available; my hope is that it will provide positive energy to power people through those post-holiday and midwinter doldrums.” Four Rows of Jacks is a modern EDM-influenced take on this great track from Mannheim Steamroller’s fourth album.
