The self-proclaimed "producer of disgruntled sounds" originated in New York City around the same time as Hip-Hop. Growing up during the golden age of "boom-bap" and DIY punk/hardcore influenced his musical palate greatly. His first sonic statement to the world was the ""Noise Is the Trigger EP released in 2010. Noise Is The Trigger (aka Psych n' Dag) is his duo with Boston emcee Dagha and the EP included features from Lil Dap (Group Home), Smoothe The Hustler and Al-J (Blak Madeen). In 2014 two singles featuring Philly's Reef The Lost Cauze dropped including "Power Moves" feat. Masta Ace and Jaysaun which got the nod from essential gatekeepers of the genre including DJ Premier who spun it on Live From HeadQuaterz (Sirius/XM) and DJ Eclipse on Rap Is Outta Control (Shade 45). Taking long hiatuses from music due to familial responsibilities and an ever-revolving succession of day-jobs, night jobs and side hustles, Psych Major started releasing a string of potent singles in 2021 and 2022. These included tracks featuring such notables as Jamal Gasol, Bub Styles, Ras Kass, Raf Almighty (Dirt Platoon), K Burns, BA Badd and many others. Returning to emceeing (under his Psych 101 alias), there has also been new Psych 'n Dag material. December 2023 will see the release of Psych Major's debut solo EP "The Late Starter" which will include tracks with Young Zee (Da Outsidaz), Ruste Juxx, Shabaam Sahdeeq, MidaZ The BEAST, Squeegie Oblong and more!
