Halcyon is a chameleonic ensemble of varying size and instrumentation, with a line up drawn together for each project by artistic director, mezzo soprano Jenny Duck-Chong. Regarded as a leading light for for the creation and promotion of new vocal music, Halcyon has presented stunning performances of vocal chamber music from around the world, with a special focus on Australian works for more than twenty years. www.halcyon.org.au Originally founded by singers Alison Morgan and Jenny Duck-Chong, since 1998 Halcyon has championed and commissioned contemporary vocal chamber music, forging international relationships with composers, music centres and institutions, as well as mentoring the next generation of composers and performers.
