The Artist/Emcee responsible for creating underground mixtape series - Hot Bref Boy, Boxguts, has been making wildstyle hardcore hip-hop music and artwork for over 2 decades. His flexible vocal tones and diverse range of cadences mesh remarkably with his distinct style and uniquely evolving choice of production. His rhymes are full of detailed psychedelic wordplay with intricate tongue-twisters, and descriptive imagery. Favoring grimy bangers with a wide variety of tempos and heavy thumping outer worldly beats. His music is raw, artistic, and entertaining. Having grown up moving from Detroit to Pittsburg to Minneapolis to Orlando, his many experiences adapting to different environments built up his arsenal as an emcee. Boxguts established a passion for music and art as he began pursuing them both obsessively at a young age. He started to develop his freestyle rhyming skills at 14, and wrote his first verse not long after. In 2000 he formed Florida based rap group BoxReb, and linked with Johnny23 Records when he moved to Brooklyn 4 years later. His official debut album Mutilator dropped in 2009. Along with releasing over 48 projects since, Guts has toured the US and collaborated internationally. He currently resides in Vermont where he’s actively recording, performing, and painting. He has a new solo LP titled Royal Water produced by Hobs StayBusy released December 2nd 2022, and has dropped 3 new EPs and several singles in 2023 since then.
